APPLICATION OPENS MONDAY, MARCH 3

ABOUT

The Doris J. Flood Memorial Scholarship was created to honor the life and legacy of Doris J. Flood—a loving mother, grandmother, and generous giver—to support deserving students in bridging the financial gap as they work toward their higher education aspirations.

Each year, this $1,000 non-renewable scholarship is awarded to a graduating high school senior with financial need who will enroll in an accredited Historically Black College or University (HBCU) in North Carolina for the upcoming fall semester.

Mrs. Flood had a deep passion for helping others. Whether family, friends, or strangers, she believed in giving back, no matter how big or small. Leading by example, she instilled these values in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who proudly uphold her legacy through acts of kindness and service.
